Day 10: Coffee. YEP. It's pure JOY.
Day 11: Veterans. I will always and forever be grateful to the men and women who have fought hard and sacrificed much, to defend and protect this great nation. We must never ever take them for granted. And we must honor them DAILY ... those that made it home - and those that paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Day 12: Photography. It's such an honor and privilege to be able to photograph some of the most important moments in people's lives. Whether it's a bride and groom on their wedding day, a high school senior that is embarking on a new journey, or a family just enjoying the moments, it makes me incredibly happy to know that I can capture such memories. FOREVER grateful that I picked up a camera a few years ago - and that my little sister helped me along the way. Wouldn't be where I'm at now, without her. And we wouldn't have met so many amazing people along the way either!

Brittany & Mason {Photos for Soldiers}
Brittany is the wife of a soldier. Her husband is in the Army and is currently deployed in Kuwait. It's been almost 6 months since she's seen him last. Their son Mason is nearly 7 months and only met his daddy when he entered the world. Brittany wanted to do something special for him for Father's Day and well, that's where I came in. I am a member of a group of photographers called Photos for Soldiers {https://www.facebook.com/Photosforsoldiers}. They pair up deployed soldiers and their families with photographers in their areas to capture special moments. It was an absolute honor to capture Brittany and Mason - not to mention her sweet mom, little brother and cutie pie doggie, Grr.
If you're a soldier looking to capture some moments of you and your family or if you're a family of a deployed soldier, please check out this program. There are volunteer photographers all over the U.S.A. and this program can connect you with one of them! :) So thankful as a photographer, that we can give back to these men and women, who fight so hard to protect our daily freedoms - and to their families, who wait patiently and without complaint for their solders to return home. ♥

Saying THANK YOU
There are often times, here in this great nation we call home, that we get to busy and forget about the men and women who have made it possible for us to live FREE, to live our dreams. We lose sight of the fact that not only are these men and women fighting on the front lines, but they've also had to leave behind their family and friends back home.
Military families are often forgotten about - we forget that the wives, husbands, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters are NOT in uniform - therefore, we don't easily recognize who these brave people are. While their loved ones are on the battlefield, they are back home fighting a different fight. Their struggles are most likely never known, as they maintain the strength and courage of the men and women they sent off to war.
We want to say THANK YOU to these families in the BEST way we know how - snapping their picture! Do you know a military family or are you a member of the armed forces? We want to thank you for your service to this country and for providing a safe haven where we can live FREE.
Please contact us today for more details on how you can take advantage of a free photo shoot! Email us at emily@heysistersphotography.com or give us a ring at 574.386.3258. We'd be honored to take your picture!
